First Taste of Dirt
Stephen has been working very hard to spruce up our backyard. He has planted 4 trees and 4 shrubs in the last 3 weeks. I am so appreciative and enjoy spending time in the mornings watering and checking up on our new additions to the home which definitely make the backyard more inviting. This morning we made a run to the nursery to pick out some shrubs and Malia had a blast splashing in all of the puddles and playing in the rain so I decided when we got home to let her run around in the backyard while Stephen and I were working (mostly Stephen) and in the 30 seconds that I took my eyes off of her she got her first taste of dirt. She came to me whining with the brown beard as evidence of her newest culinary experience. She protested when I tried to pick her up so I thought what the heck you are already dirty, run around and explore. She found chunks of mud to throw, chased the cat, climbed in a hole and tried dirt once more while we had our eyes off of her. So much fun to be a kid!
