bring on the highchair
Layla had her first taste of cereal this month and loved it! We are also introducing vegetables and I haven't found anything she doesn't like....yet. We are also in the process of transitioning to a bottle, yes that is me sniffling in the background. My thyroid has gone wacky again and my milk production dropped, I tried pumping/nursing frequently and it didn't seem to increase my supply and as you can see from pics Layla was getting thinner and thinner. :( She has moved on and is taking the bottle great so now it is time for me to do the same. I am choosing to be thankful that I was only 2 weeks away from my 6 month breastfeeding goal and that I have a healthy girl who is eating and growing wonderfully!

Green Day
For St. Patrick's Day (green day to M) our Moms group met in Fountain Hills for playtime and to watch the fountain turn green at noon. Malia was so mesmerized by the fountain when it was clear and was beside herself when they turned it green. Layla slept through the whole event. It was a fun day complete with green milk and decorating green cupcakes.

4 Months!
Layla you are such a gift! You are a very content, happy baby who loves to babble, giggle and give us great big smiles. Every once in a while you are rolling over, not consistently yet. You are quite easy going and recently you haven't minded being on your tummy...on a few occassions you have even fallen asleep. You are growing too fast for Mommy and Daddy, you are 26.5 inches tall (off the chart as far as percentile) and 13 lbs and 10.5 oz (50th percentile) for weight. Dr. Z recommended starting you on rice cereal which made Mommy sad because I can't believe you are big enough to start eating. Because I am in denial that you are old enough for cereal and because you are very content with nursing we are going to wait a few more weeks to pull out the high chair! I love you and am so very thankful that God entrusted such a sweet blessing to us.

Maliaism's
I wish I could remember all of the cute things Malia says in a day but somehow in the busyness of life I forget. I had to share a few of her sayings that came up before bed tonight. As Stephen carried her to her room she hugged him tight and said "Daddy I love you and we had a great day at the park" I know that saying is from when we pray with her, i.e. we thank The Lord for a "great day." On the other hand she has also been saying "What the heck" the past few days which is something I wish she hadn't caught on to. Time to really think through all of the words that come out of my mouth. Below is our last conversation of the night which had me in stitches.
Me: One more song before bedtime...what do you want to sing?
Malia: You know the song about the monkeys putting their shirts on in the closet
Me: No Malia I don't know that song
Malia: Yah, I think you don't know that song Mommy

Outtakes
It has been too long, we have been without internet these past 2 months as we waited for our home loan to close...these past 2 months made me realize that I use the internet way more than I ever realized. Here are a few of the outakes as I tried to capture an image for our Christmas card, and by a few I mean 5 out of approximately 50. Who knew it could be such a challenge to get a picture with both kids looking the same direction with their eyes open, no one screaming, picking their nose, pouting, poking their baby sister or running away from the camera. Trying to get the elusive picture that meets the above criteria is about as much fun as cleaning my shower drain. Although if I were completely honest these are some of my favorite pictures...hmm maybe next year I will send out a "real" Christmas card picture, nose picking and all.
