Kung Fu Malia

This Christmas we got the Wii Fit and we have found that Malia has really found it just as great an excercise tool as we have. She is joining Daddy in a round of Kung Fu. Several times a day Malia will be running around the house asking Daddy to play Kung Pu (she has a tough time saying "F").

zoo

Malia's MeMaw and Grandpa got her a membership to the zoo for her birthday and Christmas. Here are a few pictures from our visit with Daddy, we have also gone with Amy, Trent and Tatum and look forward to many more visits this year. I love that we can go for a few hours, head home for nap and not feel guilty about having paid an outrageous entrance fee for a few short hours. Malia loves seeing all of the animals, checking out the goats in the petting area, and the fun new little people playground...I look forward to cooling down at the splash pad this summer.

I remember the tractor from when I was a kid

Weight loss challenge

Stephen and I both lost some weight last year (Stephen 15 lbs, Candice 13 lbs) but we haven't reached our goal weights so here we come 2010. Stephen decided that he was going to get a jumpstart this year by losing his appendix right off the bat! He woke up Sunday morning at 12:30 a.m. in pain and ran back and forth to the bathroom all night thinking he had gas, the ever patient wife that I am snapped that he was keeping me up all night and Malia would be up bright and early the next morning, this litte conversation made me feel really bad later. After this going on all day we finally went to urgent care which sent us to the e.r....which by the way is an extremely interesting place to people watch...a great distraction from my poor husband who was squirming in pain for the 2.5 hours we waited. After some tests they decided that the appendix was very angry and inflamed and Stephen had surgery Sunday evening. He is home and is truly a great patient. Malia has been the bigger challenge because she doesn't understand why she can't sit with Daddy and why he isn't picking her up. :( I am thankful for the great nurses and docs who took care of my miserable husband. And I learned a great lesson about being kind to my sweet husband when he isn't feeling well...live the wonderful golden rule, the middle of the night is no exception.
