Only a mother could love this face
Look at me
Tuesday morning I was checking e-mails and Malia was crawling around in the den. I had my back to her when she started screaching at me and when I turned around there she was standing. I snapped this picture and very soon after she fell down and laughed hysterically. She is quite persistent, very adventurous and has no fear. I am beginning to think I am in big trouble!

Baby got book
Auntie Pamela Comes for a visit
Aunt Pamela came for a visit last week and brought Malia this cute pink elephant and the cupcake outfit that she has on. Believe it or not I had just bought Malia the same outfit the day before Pamela arrived, what a coincidence! It was so much fun to visit with Pamela and watch Malia play with her. Pamela definitely knew how to get Malia giggling. I can't wait to see all of the pictures Pamela took, she is a very talented photographer.

Sleeping in...what is that
Stephen and I have learned that sleeping in does not exist with a baby, we get excited if Malia sleeps until 6:30. I never would have thought that waking up at 6:30 would be something I would look forward to. I may be annoyed at first but as soon as I go to get her out of her crib and she flashes her smile and her big blue eyes my way, I am excited to scoop her up and give her a kiss. On Saturday mornings when we need a few more minutes of sleep we bring her into our bed give her a bottle, rest and read the newspaper in bed. I snapped this picture of Stephen and Malia on one such Saturday catching some zzz's.

He makes a cute turtle
Swimming
For those of you who don't know Stephen loves turtles, in fact I gave Stephen Tommy the turtle (our first pet) as a wedding gift. It died before we reached our first anniversary, good thing I am not superstitious. I have a picture of Stephen when he was little where he actually looks like a turtle, but I suppose that is neither here nor there. All of that to say that when I found this turtle float at Wal-Mart I was so excited and I thought Malia would love swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's. Wrong! She screamed at the top of her lungs the first time in the pool. These pictures are from our second venture into the pool and as you can see she is much happier to be out of the pool than in. She just finished swim lessons and Malia is becoming more comfortable in the water.
