A trip to Missouri
The second week in August two weeks to the day that my Mom finished her last treatment, My Mom, Malia and I boarded a plane to visit my grandparents in Missouri. Malia was excellent on the flight and didn't cry instead shrieked with excitement at the kids behind us. She crawled up the front of me like a little monkey and peeked her head over the seat and shrieked at the kids behind us. She desperately wanted to get their attention and play. We had a wonderful time visitng, hearing hilarious family stories (thanks Grandma) and watching the Olympics. Somehow I inherited my Dad's not so competitive nature, so I really enjoyed watching my very competitve Grandma and Mom cheer and yell at the Games. It was the first time Malia has met her Great Grandpa and she really enjoyed crawling all over Grandpa's bed and pushing the buttons that make the bed go up and down (Yikes!) My Grandpa is doing well, in fact while we were there my Grandma signed papers to release him from Hospice Care. We had a great time and once again I am so thankful that Malia is such a happy, flexible baby. These last few months would have been much more difficult if it weren't for her very pleasant personality. She is a great blessing.
